Azul looks over the pool. Twenty five square metres under vaulted ceilings with exposed beams, with the water below and the Alhama valley and the olive groves running out beyond it.

The pool view, at our smallest price

Of our two rooms at this size, Azul is the one with the water in front of it. You can see the pool from the bed, which sounds like a small thing and turns out to matter on a hot afternoon when you are deciding whether to go down. The Juliet balcony opens onto the same view.

A calm, well proportioned room

Vaulted ceilings and exposed beams give it more height than the floor area suggests, and it is a genuinely restful room to come back to. King bed, a good ensuite shower, air conditioning, and Wi-Fi that works properly now the house is wired through to every room.

Honest about the size

Twenty five square metres is our smallest footprint, and we would rather say so than have you find out. If you want room to spread out for a fortnight, the Dorado or the Rosado will suit you better. What Azul does is put you in the same house, at the same breakfast table, looking at the same hills, for less. For a few nights of walking, riding or driving into Granada, it is all the room you need.
